Time to feed the birds...Chickadeee...dee...dee...dee...dee
S and I enjoy going onto Jack Pine trail for a winter walk and feed the chickadees. The kids used to come with us too. in 2014, I brought a camera and took pictures of this scene. I was taking my first linocut printmaking class that winter, at the Ottawa School of Art and got going with making prints of this magic moment of trust when the bird lands on your hand, looks right and left, and picks one or two sunflower seeds and zips to a nearby tree.
Moment paisible chez les mésanges
S et moi aimons bien nous promener en hiver sur le sentier Jack Pine avec nos graines de tournesol dans nos poches, en cherchant in bon spot pour rencontrer des mésanges. En 2014, je commençais des cours de linogravure à l'école d'art d'Ottawa et j'avais apporté une caméra pour saisir des scènes inspirantes. Cette scène avec l'avant-bras de S et une mésange en train de choisir son lunch m'a émue pour sa sensibilité. Visuellement j'aimais les contrastes de cette image. J'ai mis la main à la 'plaque'(!) pour faire deux linogravures inspirées de cette expérience.
